Have your say. Help shape our industry.
A new opportunity for DIA members to come together, discuss the issues that matter to Driver and Rider Trainers and help influence the future direction of our profession.
Join our first face-to-face member discussion and contribute directly to the conversation.
Choose a morning or early evening online discussion session around your lessons and other commitments.
Not another presentation. A proper industry discussion.
Those working on the frontline of driver and rider training have valuable experience, ideas and insight into both the challenges facing the profession and the opportunities to improve it.
We want members to do the talking.
DIA will bring important industry topics to the table, facilitate the conversation and, most importantly, listen. Members can challenge current thinking, share experiences, identify problems and work together on practical ideas and solutions.
Share what you are seeing and experiencing in your own professional practice.
Explore different views, question current approaches and identify where things could improve.
Give DIA stronger evidence, insight and member feedback to take into its wider industry work.
Three important questions for our profession
Our first sessions will focus on some of the bigger issues affecting professional Driver and Rider Trainers.
How do we better promote professional trainers to the public?
How can we improve public understanding of the value of choosing a professional, regulated Driver or Rider Trainer and better communicate the skills, expertise and responsibilities involved in the role?
How can we raise trainer standards?
What should high professional standards look like across our industry? What support, development and changes could help trainers continue to improve throughout their careers?
Should ADIs play a bigger role in the learner journey?
Could professional trainers have a greater role in determining when learners are ready to progress towards independent driving and licensing? What could a stronger gatekeeper role look like?
The conversation is not limited to these questions. There will be opportunities to raise wider issues, exchange experiences and highlight areas you believe DIA should explore further.
Your insight will help inform DIA's work representing the profession and strengthen the evidence and feedback we take into discussions with DVSA, government and other key industry stakeholders.
Join the conversation. Join the profession's community.
