About the DIA

The Largest professional membership body for driver and rider trainers in the United Kingdom

Support for driver trainers, as well as advice, professional development and training

Support for driver trainers

To ensure we always help and support our members, we provide lobbying and representation. Our members are ADIs and rider trainers working across the vehicle and licence categories. We help driving instructors and work with road safety professionals across the world to develop driving standards. This means we’re respected experts in driver education and can offer the best and most up-to-date advice for driver trainers. DIA is also a member of key industry groups, including the Department for Transport’s Road Safety Delivery Group and the Road Safety Observatory board and we’re closely involved in the development of regulation, policy and strategy.

In addition to providing help for driving instructors, we offer advanced driver training and assessment, as well as online courses. These can be classroom-based, in-car or eLearning. Our courses are for both individual motorists and fleet operators, in the UK and internationally. Professional development is a vital part of your role as a driver trainer, and we want to help make it easy for you.

We offer a host of benefits to our members. These include £25m of professional indemnity and public liability insurance, legal assistance and an ADI helpdesk to offer advice for driver trainers, as well as a monthly magazine and free webinars. Membership also includes discounts on goods and services for your home and business, as well as a range of other benefits. Click here for further details and to find out how to join.

At the DIA, we always work hard to ensure we provide the best help and support for driver trainers.
